The only answer to “who should be doing this stuff” is “whoever is out there when it happens.” If your teammates don’t react immediately, everything that comes later means less. This is exactly what ppl were bagging the leafs for two weeks ago. “Team toughness” is an attitude.

As a goalie who has permanently opted out of beer duty (not purchase, just transport) because I lost every time I brought it, I’m empathizing hard with Dobes here.

Good on Dobes for speaking up and asking the team to help him. Not everyone can handle the MTL media grind— and that’s ok— there’s nothing « weak » or « wrong » about it. We also need to stop the « it’s part of the pressure of the city ». The city comes with pressure, but he handles that on the ice. That’s where I want him to deal with the pressure and see what he’s made of. If talking to the media at 24-years-old is making him anxious, then don’t do it. He didn’t say he never wants to do it, he just says that it’s a lot for him and we, as fans, should support him.

@Tys35 @Asnow119 There’s a brief moment with no shot threat here where the play is moving away: that’s the time to get up. At the very least, to have to recognize that the guy’s on his off wing and adjust to centre yourself on the blade. He’s not going to hit you from there.

@Asnow119 I didn’t see the Ingram one, I’ll have to look. It’s modern-ish coaching. Anything below the circle “can” be taught to be down in RVH, but every goal sees it differently. I’ve never liked it outside the dots. It gets tough here because of how quickly Forsberg steps out
