'That's just nonsense, isn't it?' @Lewis_Goodall puts Zack Polanski’s comparison of Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin as threats to the UK to former Green leader Natalie Bennett.

@WokeratiMarty Yes, I can't get past it either. The Labour Party making the British taxpayer complicit in the worst crime we have a name for - genocide. Starmer - a human rights lawyer who simply must know better- stood up in the Commons and denied the Israeli govt were genocidal. Shame on us

It’s the genocide, Mick. There’s no coming back from that for many of us. I’ll forever see the Labour Party as the party that provided cover for Israel to murder tens of thousands of innocent civilians in Gaza. It has to be Your Party, Socialist Independent, and Green now.
BBC Newsnight@BBCNewsnight

"I'm not voting Green in this election because I still believe in a Labour movement" Mick Lynch, former RMT General Secretary, tells @bbcpaddy that while he will not vote for the Green Party, "maybe they'll be part of a bigger labour movement in the future." #Newsnight

Today, my friend found the body of his neighbor buried and decomposed. He had been injured and bleeding for three days during the last evacuation from northern Gaza. When he realized he wouldn’t survive and that no one could reach him, he covered himself with soil and buried himself while in prostration. Now, his bones were found in that same position. His body was discovered beside a tree he chose as his final resting place. He left a sign for his family — his ring tied above the soil with a string, along with a small branch from the tree, so they could find him.

A new low from the Greens. And another reason why nobody should trust Zack Polanski with our national security. Not only did Putin threaten to wipe out a civilisation, he’s actively trying do it in Ukraine.
Politics UK@PolitlcsUK

🚨 NEW: Zack Polanski suggests Donald Trump is worse than Vladimir Putin “As horrendous as Putin is… I’ve never seen him threaten genocide. I've never seen him threaten to wipe out a civilization… Starmer’s so-called special relationship is more of a danger than what Putin is doing in Ukraine” [@antoguerrera]

The headline says that the costs of Trump’s tantrums are “starting to show”. I don’t think Americans get that for Europeans, the Greenland debacle changed everything. It’s over. No one can trust the US. It’s not because of Trump. It’s because we know your system can’t/ won’t stop him or the next guy after him. And also that there’s enough of you who think it would be ‘cool’ to invade just to rub it in our faces. That’s a good enough reason to never trust you again and make everything far more transactional.
Fareed Zakaria@FareedZakaria

In the United States, President Trump’s periodic insults hurled toward allies get treated as routine tantrums. But in those countries, the accumulation of abuse has reached a tipping point. My latest column: washingtonpost.com/opinions/2026/…

@Blakes7Diary It's true- it's his Doctor at his best. Great description incidentally -the young man in the old body. In this story it was never more true.Watching it again recently I was lamenting - still, after 40 years !-that he didn't stay on longer, just as he was finding the Doctor's voicr

Just watched Frontios on Blu-ray and absolutely loved it. For some reason, it had slipped way down in my estimations over the years, but now I think it’s bloody marvellous (again). Davison is so great - one of my favourite Doctors, joint second with Pertwee - and it’s especially satisfying seeing him written as a wise old man ‘trapped’ in a young man’s body. Bidmead really understood the fifth Doctor and his writing feels all the more special now. And the new effects added for the Blu-ray really lift the story. :) #DoctorWho

Americans should take notes from Hungary on how to defeat MAGA. You don't beat far-right autocrats with far-left candidates. You win by offering someone the average voter is actually comfortable with, exactly how Magyar won over former Orbán voters
