We've signed a significant £1 billion contract for 72 Remote Controlled Howitzer artillery systems (RCH 155). The RCH 155 is the future of @britisharmy artillery capability and it's being built by workers in Telford and Stockport, using British steel from Sheffield.

Today the MOD is announcing a £1billion order for 72 RCH-155 guns. It’s a big investment in the British Army and shows that the Labour government is serious about increasing the lethality and deterrence of our forces 🇬🇧

With our troops deployed round the world, with threats building towards the UK and our allies my responsibility as Defence Minister is to put our country first and provide continuity and consistency for our armed forces and defence sector at a highly uncertain time.
