@DanHarmone Avatar is exploring the maximum of peril of economic or social destruction within warfare, where the most innocent are immediate slaughtered or manipulated. Korra does have deep concepts, but many times stay a little too surface floating because its seasonal inconsistency.

@DanHarmone soldiers of the state or absolute censorship by literally brainwashing you with propaganda. The water tribe is split due to strong misogynist values and identifies. The fire nation's strongest character is a groomed little girl into a terrorist, from a terrorist dad—

This argument only works if you ignore what Korra actually went through. Saying she had peace, mentors, and resources is technically true but completely misleading. Korra was raised in isolation, overprotected, and trained in a controlled environment that actively stunted her growth as an Avatar. She had bending teachers, not real-world experience, which is why she struggles when she finally faces actual political, spiritual, and ideological conflicts. And ‘peace’ doesn’t mean ‘easy.’ Korra didn’t inherit a war, she inherited a world full of systemic problems: inequality (Amon), spiritual imbalance (Unalaq), anarchism (Zaheer), and authoritarian expansion (Kuvira). These are far more complex than a single enemy nation, they’re ideological conflicts with no simple solution. Also, she didn’t ‘make things harder,’ she made decisions under uncertainty without the safety net of past Avatars after Harmonic Convergence. Unlike Aang, she couldn’t rely on accumulated wisdom. Every mistake she makes is part of her learning curve in a world that doesn’t have clear answers. Reducing all of that to ‘she had it easy and messed up anyway’ ignores her trauma, her growth, and the complexity of the problems she faced. It’s not analysis, it’s just flattening the character.

Korra had mentors, resources, and peace… and still made things harder than they needed to be 🙂‍↔️

@DanHarmone Amon should have been a villain built up to, reinforced through the seasonal errors of benders and their methodology that reaches a boiling point in ostracizing what the avatar is. Amon recovering an anarchist revolution and blaming it on the avatar would have been wonders

@DanHarmone Ironically, I think the militaristic/fascism plot point of season 4, shifted into the anti-bender structure of plot 1 as a follow up reaction, and then the anarchist reaction to both of these realities climaxed with the merging of worlds would have fit better—

Saying ‘95% of the hate would disappear’ if the events of Harmonic Convergence never happened is just an oversimplification that ignores both the narrative intent and the broader reception of The Legend of Korra. That moment wasn’t some random destruction of lore, it was a deliberate thematic reset of the Avatar cycle back to a state closer to Wan, where the Avatar must operate without relying on accumulated past wisdom. The point is to force Korra into a position where she cannot lean on previous lives like Aang did, and instead has to navigate a far more modern, politically complex, and spiritually unstable world on her own terms. It shifts the Avatar from being a vessel of inherited answers to someone who must actively create new ones, which fits the show’s larger themes of change, uncertainty, and evolving balance. More importantly, the idea that removing this event would erase most of the hate ignores the fact that criticism of Korra existed long before it, people already took issue with her personality, the tonal shift from the original series, the industrial setting, and the different narrative structure. Harmonic Convergence simply became a focal point for frustrations that were already there, not the root cause of them. Even without it, those same criticisms would persist because they stem from fundamental differences between the two shows, not a single plot decision. Reducing all of that to one moment is less analysis and more scapegoating imo.

Agree or Disagree: 95% of the hatred Korra gets would disappear if this never happened

One thing Drake stans did by spammin Kendrick’s comments and makin fake Kendrick albums durin this rollout, is show they IN DEED need Kendrick for promo. And the Fact they engaged with the FAKE Kendrick album more than Drake’s REAL announcement further shows me yall don’t even really like Drake. You just obsessed with Kendrick.

Kendrick Lamar is now a major headline across blogs over a fake "Fireman" album that was made up by Drake fans. The viral post had nearly 100K likes on Twitter, 7 times higher than Drake's Iceman announcement on big Pop blogs like Pop Base.

@DVulth @SaaboTheHun @AmityBlight6777 The position doesn't even convey the same perspective as someone who'd have committed rape back then, as that's a behavior that speaks to abhorrency that requires several years to atone for. Neither was it a socially accepted practice amongst all people.

@DVulth @SaaboTheHun @AmityBlight6777 That was the culture of the internet back then. All groups of people said horrible shit because it wasn't as frowned upon and more socially okay. If he still held this behavior today, that would be one thing.
