@JudyWinslow_fm It really is a great park. One of the best in the world. The improvements are big unknowns at this point, though. We don't know if they will make things better as some of it is replacing stuff that was already there.

@OdysseyJurassic Rise until it started running on B mode somewhere within the ride all the time. Pandora and FoP. Not an Avatar fan but it's still impressive. Cosmic Rewind, the ride.... and the queue the first few times until drunk Karens started to ruin it. Other than that... meh...

Cosmic Rewind is such an oddity because it’s the only ride I’ve ever been on that’s experience is ruined by the bad/annoying ridership of the attraction.
I genuinely cannot think of any other ride that’s like this.

@BrerOswald They could have dressed out those sets with foliage, built tiny sets over those areas, etc. Those spots are dark because the company is being cheap. Also, concrete can be dressed or drilled through to add story elements. This is Disney. They could have pulled it off. They didn't.

@WillyrobL There was literally zero way of pulling this off. The sets are made of concrete. That’s why the ride is screens and darkness now. Shine a light and oh look…there’s the sculpted grass and rock work from the previous theme.

Am I wrong though? All of the corporations are taking advantage of guests and their employees. Disney, Universal, SixFlags, SeaWorld. Charging more for less an it’s all going into the pockets of executives that aren’t even qualified. We should want better, no?

@BrerOswald I'm talking degrees of frustration, here. A good immersive story, rich characters, physical sets and tech (not screens), and a thematic match to the surrounding land and that would have kept the masses satisfied. I know SM has its uber fans as I am one. But we are a niche.

@WillyrobL You’re underestimating how popular of a ride it is/was. It would be a similar reaction if they rethemed Pirates, Mansion, Big Thunder, and Space.
The track, the sets, the soundtrack…it was all tailored to that storyline. You can’t tell me people wouldn’t miss it regardless

Controversial take (?): I like being able to view construction of new areas so i don’t mind BTM overlooking piston peak, i understand it’s not good show or a good first impression to anyone visiting first time though.

Now that they’ve touched on of their “untouchables”, nothing is off the table. And it’s Disney Parks’ “untouchables” that have given the place such a strong reputation.

@Babyro49 @disneytipsguy It also depends on how you do the parks and meals. If you take advantage of deals, discount, and perks, you can easily do that considerably less. As in close to half. I've stayed at deluxe with 4 and haven't come close to 1000 a day. With planning and flexibility, you can save.

@disneytipsguy It obviously depends on how many nights you stay, but if you stay at Pop or All Stars it will be about $1000 per night which includes room, tickets and meals for a family of four.

@disneytipsguy I am driving 1000 miles from PA end of June with wife and 2 kids. Staying at Coronado. 4 days at the park, 1 day at water park. With gas, RT, not even close to $5k. People choose to take trips like that without taking advantage of deals or any planning. That's just a waste.

@DeeMagicGurl @BrerOswald Mostly agree. In this case, Disney changed the way they do things. Splash was going to change. The IP they chose was a pivot. They manipulated people using racism to shut everyone up about the change. People would have been OK if the Tiana ride and story were good. They're not.

Tweets didn’t close Splash Mountain. Years of brand risk analysis, guest sentiment trends, and long term IP strategy did. Social chatter is a signal, not the strategy. If wait times and demand actually tanked, they wouldn’t have touched it. They followed where the audience was already going and made a business decision around it. And it’s pretty clear you’re not looking at this through a corporate or operational lens. This is bigger than “they saw tweets and panicked.”

@OdysseyJurassic Its a fun pre-show. Designed for crowd management which it does a terrible job at. Frankly, they should put cattle shoots in there the whole way up to the loading ramp. I absolutely hate the Haunted Mansion/Guardians style people mashing queue.

Some observations from yesterday: -Because the vehicles now spin freely, passengers often face away from the show scenes -The two sections of guide rails mid-ride do nothing to correct this -Guests who don’t like spinning can no longer hold the vehicle in a forward position

The new Pink Milk at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge tastes like Strawberry Banana with the smallest hint of coconut. At $10.43 after tax, it’s not the best bang for your buck. But, some are saying it’s the best of the 3 milks (I still think green is the best).

@BrerOswald First let me say they do not need a 5th gate at all. But, hypothetically, does anyone think a 5th gate from this version of Imagineering would be anything desirable? They created a really neat splash pad nobody even remembers is there and a college campus in the middle of Epcot.

If WDW ever gets a 5th park, it should be a version of Disney Sea. Not the exact same park with the exact same lands, but a version of the idea.
