@WisconsinFella@NFCNorthNewss Lol what is there to spend money on in Hammond? Downtown is 20 minutes. Everyone is gonna drink at bars then take shuttles.
🚨🚨BREAKING: Chicago’s Mayor Brandon Johnson says the #Bears organization will keep the name “Chicago Bears” despite moving to Hammond Indiana.
In an emphatic statement Johnson stated:
“If the Bears want to leave Chicago so be it, but Chicago is NOT leaving the Bears. I have reached an agreement with ownership that will cement the “Chicago Bears” name with the team, keeping the history and future of this team in Chicago where it belongs, no matter WHERE they play. I just wish the ownership cared about the fans as much as I do.”
Should Chicago resident still support the “Chicago Bears of Indiana?” 🤔
The Chicago Bears are leaving Chicago and Illinois to move to Indiana. Well done, Mayor Johnson and Governor Pritzker, you couldn’t even keep a pro football team in your city and state.
@draklarvampar@10zJohnson They are identical around crappy Chicagoland and the northern half of Indiana is a drab Illinois match. Southern Indiana is like Wisconsin. Rolling wooded hills.
🚨 After 105 years the Chicago Bears are moving to Republican run Indiana because of the incompetent, DEI, Democrat mayor of Chicago and clueless, Democrat Governor of Illinois, JB Pritzker!
Elections have consequences Illinois!
The Bears’ Board of Directors voted Thursday to advance the stadium development in Hammond, Indiana, with the exact to be selected. This is this first time that the Bears’ board has voted on any stadium site.
As one source said, “There is more work to do but barring anything very strange, it’s a done deal.”
Hoosiers, help me welcome the Chicago Bears to our great state!
We look forward to building a partnership as strong as the '85 Bears defense, creating opportunities and economic growth that will benefit our state and the Bears organization for decades to come.
An NFL franchise in Northwest Indiana will be an economic boost to the entire region like we haven’t seen before.
Thank you to Speaker Huston, the legislature, and Mayor McDermott for their partnership. I also want to thank the entire Chicago Bears organization for their partnership and commitment in making this move a reality.
Welcome to Indiana!
@GovBraun Bro, ait no one coming to your shitty ass state to watch a football game , lmfao. You have NO idea what CHICAGO people are about. We root for teams playing IN CHICAGO. This is going to blow UP in your face and I can't WAIT to see it.
@iamjessedrama@AdamSchefter But, but, but, what about the 3% of the city where all the rich white people live? Go there, ignore the other 97% and it's one hell of a city!
@AdamSchefter moving a sport teams across state lines should be illegal
I legitamately feel bad for Bears fans- got their team uprooted all because the owner didn't get enough money from the city
We need to start policing these billionaires
