Heavy attacks on Ukraine last night, with more civilians killed and the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, a UNESCO site, seriously damaged. Today, G7 leaders meet in Evian. We will discuss the next steps to increase pressure on Russia, bring Putin to the negotiating table, and end this senseless killing. Europe wants peace. Nobody more than the Ukrainian people. Russia, on the other hand, showed again its sole interest in violence and destruction.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy / Володимир Зеленський@ZelenskyyUa

Efforts to deal with the aftermath of the Russian strikes are ongoing in Kyiv, as well as in Kharkiv. Last night, the Russians launched more than 60 missiles at the capital alone. In total, 70 missiles and 611 drones were used against Ukraine. As of now, 28 people have been reported injured and four killed in the capital. My condolences to all their families and loved ones. A Russian strike on the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra set the Dormition Cathedral on fire – a church whose history dates back to the 11th century. And this is one of Russia’s most serious crimes against Christian culture to date. The State Emergency Service has already extinguished the fire on the cathedral’s roof. In Kharkiv, the Russians carried out a repeat strike against our rescuers as they were putting out a fire at the site of an earlier strike on an industrial facility. So far, tragically, five people have been confirmed killed. My condolences to all their families and loved ones. Nine people have been injured. In Dnipro, Russia struck the grounds of a railway station, a college, and several enterprises. Other cities and communities were targeted as well. The Kyiv, Dnipro, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, and Mykolaiv regions were also under attack. This is how Russia shows the world its intention to continue the war. It is very important that there be a response from the G7 countries, which are now gathering for their summit – and that this response be decisive and substantive: more pressure on the aggressor and more support for Ukraine’s air defense, especially anti-ballistic capabilities. I thank everyone who is helping us protect lives.

What has Elon Musk taken from you? So ask many including Andrew Neil. Here's the answer: He has taken our peace of mind. He has purposefully pushed us apart, divided us further and profited from our loss of community. And that is hard to ever forgive.

@ClimateWarrior7 Why don't you give one milion to every homeless person. Don't have that much, make it, became a billionaire and then give all away. Lead by example 🤡🤡🤡

People are telling me Elon's wealth is tied up in shares. OK then, why doesn't he give every American homeless person $1 million in shares? SpaceX could be governed by a panel of thousands of homeless people instead of just one man.
Rep. Becca Balint@RepBeccaB

Today, Elon Musk became the world’s first trillionaire.
It's a ridiculous amount of money for one person to be sitting on and comes as countless Americans are struggling to afford food, housing, and health care.   We need to tax wealth – immediately.

@bourscheid You are just stupid. Nobody has a trillion. Do you know how an IPO works. They floated a very small amount, 75 billions. That is the actual money going to spacex. The rest is numbers on a paper.

I really don’t understand true greed. If I was worth $1 trillion, you’d have to physically stop me from solving as many of the world’s problems as possible. Everyone would have a home, food on the table, proper healthcare, happiness. I just don’t get it.

Absolutely blows my mind that people still look at the most obvious engineering challenges ever and assume no one at SpaceX is solving for that. They’re running the biggest satellite constellations in existence, launched from reusable rockets. They know what a fkn vacuum is.
JerryRigEverything@ZacksJerryRig

You know the reason your Stanley or Hydroflask is so good at keeping your water cold is because there's a vacuum inside the walls of the thermos. Heat can't conduct in a vaccum. And "radiated" heat is ineffective at the temperatures processors operate at. This satellite will be like plugging in your gaming PC without a CPU cooler. It'll be dead in minutes.

🚨🇬🇧 UK TV: ELON MUSK ORCHESTRATED BELFAST RIOTS Former Green party leader Caroline Lucas claims that @elonmusk was behind the riots in Belfast. They want to initiate an 𝕏 BAN, starting with teenagers. Lucas KNOWS that leftist NGOs stage riots (thx, Soros!) and projects that idea onto Elon Musk! “What happened on the streets of Belfast was orchestrated by the far right, by Elon Musk, by a network of people who actually want this to happen. So it wasn't quite as spontaneous as it looked.”

@GravityAnalyti1 Do more math publish some peer review papers. And then watch them do it. Plenty of scientist said is not possible to recover and reuse rocket booster. They did it. Another bunch said starlink is not possible now they have 10k satellites and counting. See the pattern?

Former Physics Professor: P=σϵAT^4 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stefan%E2… If anyone wants to do the math. It's very simple. Below is a graph of semiconductor failure rate to temperature. Data center shut down temperatures are around 80°C. If you don't want to do the math you would need a Space radiator the size of an American Football field to dissipate 1MW (which is 1,000,000 Joules/second) safely and effectively. And you have to get such a contraption to Space and assemble it - in Space. Then you have to deal with the reality that any inefficiency in that device is going to cook your semiconductors and circuitry. It's not like you can test your Space Radiator at scale - in Space. And let's not forget there is a lot of Space junk floating around to - you know - hit this orbiting fly swatter. GPUs only last 4-7 years in terrestrial conditions where Amazon delivers. I haven't done the math on the economics of this but I am pretty sure since data centers on Earth barely make a profit that one in Space is going to need those chips to not fry-out for decades or hundreds of years. Most people do not really understand what a function to the 4th power really means. This isn't the dumbest idea in human history. Well, yes it probably is the dumbest idea in human history. On other topics people are discussing. The ISS uses an ammonia/water system to dissipate heat and only generates about 100kW. nasa.gov/wp-content/upl… Satellites generate far less heat than the ISS.

Yes, the thing about your thermos flask is that the outer wall is a 2.8K 🙄 Honestly, how many random creators think they’ve outsmarted the thermal engineers at SpaceX who have successfully flown 10k Starlinks without frying them?

@ryzerth If this was a start-up maybe someone will take you seriously. But spacex is operating around 10k starlink satellite already. I will lean to trust spacex know what they are talking about and not a random armchair engineer.
