Having served nearly a quarter of a century in the British Army, I stood alongside some of the proudest and most humble people you’ll ever meet. There are tens of thousands of us. People you wouldn’t expect. People who don’t talk about it — except maybe on Remembrance Sunday, over a quiet beer. I’m Gen X. Uncompromising in my values. I want every generation — X, Y, Z… and those still to come — to have the same courage and opportunity that shaped me. I’ve got children. I’ve got grandchildren. I’ve been married 40 years this year. My values aren’t for sale. They never will be. And I know this — there are millions of us who feel exactly the same. We just needed a moment where standing firm and standing proud was the only option left. This morning was different. 05:30, like always. But it wasn’t despair that woke me — it was hope. Determination. Something is happening. You can see it. You can feel it. People standing up. Being counted. As this grows — and it will — there’ll be noise, slurs, accusations. To that I say, without apology: you’ve already lost. We have what it takes. And we’re not going anywhere. To everyone who’s followed — thank you. I’ve followed back. That matters. That’s how this grows. So take the time. Support each other. Follow genuine accounts. We are here. You can count us. You can judge us. But understand this.......! We don’t care. I'm all in.

I bought a house in manchester mid 2012 and there was a good mix of people on my street. I’ve just sat looking out of the window and there’s literally two white families left. I’m one of them. I’m furious that we was never asked.

I set up something in my lending company called Islamic finance, specifically for Muslims. I actually created it years ago because a lot of Muslims I was working with couldn’t borrow money in the normal way due to their religion. So we had to find another solution. Here’s how it works. Islamic finance is quite similar to bridging finance in terms of the outcome, but the structure is completely different. Normally, if you wanted to buy a property and needed funding, I might say, “You need £100,000? No problem, here it is, and you’ll pay me 1% a month.” But with Islamic finance, you can’t charge interest. So what we’ve done at Samuel Leeds Finance is use a structure called Murabaha. Let’s say you want to buy a house worth £100,000. Instead of lending you the money, we’ll actually buy the property ourselves, say for £95,000. Then we sell it on to you for £100,000. You don’t pay that all upfront, you pay in instalments over an agreed period. Once you’ve made all the payments, the property is fully yours. So in simple terms, you’re still paying more over time, but it’s structured as a purchase agreement rather than an interest-based loan. It’s how Elijah was able to get his first investment property as a Muslim with prior little experience.

@XMARTIAN0 @HistoricHub Well actually the opposite. Might not look as good but the current bridge is a lot safer for people and boats.

This is one of the worst downgrades of all time Old London Bridge was a medieval stone structure that stood for over 600 years and was once considered a wonder of the world. It was 926 feet long and filled with houses and shops, making it the longest inhabited bridge in Europe

I completely understand the frustration of British cities no longer looking “English” but can I ask why English businesses have stopped trading in these same places they complain about. I hardly see independent English/white owned fruit and vege, corner shops, butchers, restaurants etc WHY?? There are plenty of empty buildings up and down the high street- so why can’t you English pull your finger out? Can’t be bothered? Poor work ethic? If there is an empty building and no one is taking out a lease or buying it who’s English, what’s wrong with Asian, Middle Eastern businesses setting up shop It just sounds like jealousy at times. Nothing is stopping you from opening a business on a high street of your choice.
