An editorial note regarding by-elections... winners obviously count and my feelings are well known on how Mr. Carney has achieved a majority... but for commentators who read into the vote count of other parties in safe seats, if you didn't didn't comment on the Liberal vote collapse in the Battle River-Crowfoot by-election last summer, then I would suggest you consider your bias. The Carney Liberals support here dropped by nearly 2/3rds in the by-election versus the general election.

The path to a Liberal majority in Canada is insanely corrupt:
-SHUT DOWN parliament (prorogue) because you are about to lose. Leverage Jagmeet Singh's pension date to avoid an election.
-Stall until the US election. Leverage the Trump win.
-STILL dont get a majority - so you convince other MPs to betray their constituents for government perks to get you across the line.
This government is totally illegitimate.

The most effective response for Albertans is simple: Sign the petition!!
Participate in democracy. Show that you care, that you are engaged, and that you are capable of making your own decisions.
Because democracy is not passive, it depends on citizens who are willing to step forward and take part.

Specifically, the Chief Electoral Officer shall not certify the petition results or make a referral to the Minister of Justice until the Court has ruled on the Applications by ACN and the Blackfoot Nations.” If there is no harm in gathering signatures, what is the harm in verifying them or transmitting the results to the Legislature? In effect, the decision halts the communication of the democratic will of citizens to their elected representatives. How does that strengthen, or even preserve, the integrity of our democratic process? And it doesn’t take into consideration the canvassers, those standing in the cold for hours and engaged their fellow citizens in a lawful democratic exercise, only to be told that their work cannot be formally recognized or conveyed. If participation is permitted, but the outcome cannot be communicated, what exactly is the process meant to achieve and who does that ultimately serve?

Meanwhile, Mark Carney Liberals are making backroom deals, undemocratically, with MPs to 'annex' their ridings so they can rule Canada without a democratic election.
The annexation of Canada into Liberal rule comes under the excuse of Canada's annexation under Donald Trump's rule, which of course will never happen but the propaganda machine isn't about facts. It's about capture of power.
