AI lowers the marginal cost of creative skill to zero. This has the downside of giving billions of people with no creative taste the ability to create whatever they want (AI slop) but the upside that those who have taste but lack skill the ability to produce great art, and those who have taste and skill the ability to produce great art 10X faster than before.

@witagon What we like in characters is that they be depicted with freedom. More anarchic worlds are better for stories with heroes, but in times where stability reigns you can still have stories that excite through criminals. Which is why we have The Sopranos etc Schiller, the pathetic:

People tend to like stories set in a relatively “simpler”, medieval sort of world, or they like stories set in the far future. Far fewer people think early modern times, the 1800s, or the contemporary world as-it-is are interesting settings. The unknown yields possibility.

@lordmahammer_ Les autres pays sont pas écolo mais moralise aussi sur d'autres trucs, et utilise moins la raison mais plus souvent simplement un appel à se soumettre à la tradition. Je pense que "pour se croire intelligent" n'est vraiment pas une bonne explication du phénomène.
