If a random stranger especially an old person starts talking to you in the supermarket or elsewhere please be patient because you may be the only one this person has spoken to for days, weeks or even a month. Be kind because you never know one day that this person might be you, not by choice but by circumstance. ❤️ Old people can be lonely people.

That kind of person is often the hardest to spot because on the surface, everything looks “fine.” But if you pay attention, there are quiet patterns that don’t match the polished image. Here are some subtle signs: 1. They’re always “handling it”… but never actually okay They show up, meet deadlines, keep promises but if you ask how they are, the answer is always vague: “I’m good”, “just tired.” It never goes deeper. 2. Constant exhaustion they brush off as normal They’re always tired, but they joke about it or normalize it like it’s just part of being busy. It’s not occasional it’s their baseline. 3. They disappear emotionally, not physically They still reply to messages, go to work, attend events but something feels absent. They’re there, just not fully present. 4. Overly independent to a fault They almost refuse help. Not in an arrogant way more like they genuinely believe they have to carry everything alone. 5. Small things overwhelm them privately They can handle big responsibilities, but something minor (a delay, a comment, a small mistake) hits them way harder than expected usually in private. 6. Their “downtime” isn’t actually restful When they finally have free time, they either numb out (scrolling, binge-watching) or feel guilty for resting. 7. They deflect concern with humor or logic If someone checks on them, they’ll joke, change the topic, or rationalize everything instead of opening up. 8. They’re reliable for everyone else but inconsistent with themselves They’ll show up for others 100%… but neglect their own needs, health, or goals. 9. Sudden bursts of withdrawal They might randomly go quiet, cancel plans, or isolate not dramatically, just enough that you notice a pattern. 10. They measure their worth by productivity If they’re not achieving something, they feel like they’re failing even if they’re clearly overwhelmed. The core pattern is this: They’ve mastered functioning, but not feeling okay. And because nothing is visibly “falling apart,” people rarely realize they’re barely holding it together. If you’re asking this because of someone specific, it might be worth checking in with them in a low-pressure way no fixing, just letting them know they don’t have to carry everything alone.

Bob Mueller was one of the finest directors in the history of the FBI, transforming the bureau after 9/11 and saving countless lives. But it was his relentless commitment to the rule of law and his unwavering belief in our bedrock values that made him one of the most respected public servants of our time. Michelle and I send our condolences to Bob’s family, and everyone who knew and admired him.

A jobless man applied for the position of 'office boy'. The HR manager interviewed him, then gave him a test: clean the floor. The man passed the test with flying colors. "You are hired," HR manager informed the applicant, "give me your e-mail address, and I'll send you the application for employment, as well as the date you should report for work. The man replied " I don't have a computer, or an email!" "I'm sorry," said the HR manager. "If you don't have an email, that means you do not exist. And we cannot hire persons who do not exist." The man was very disappointed. He didn't know what to do. He only had $10 with him. Once that is spent, he won't have any money to buy any food. He went to the supermarket and bought a crate of tomatoes with his $10. He went from door to door and sold the tomatoes in less than two hours. He doubled his money. He repeated the operation three times, and returned home with $60. He realized that he can survive this way. He started to go everyday earlier, and return late. He doubled or tripled his money every day. Soon, he bought a cart, then a truck. In a very short time, he had his own fleet of delivery vehicles. Five years later, the man became one of the biggest food retailers. He started to plan his family's future, and decided to have a life insurance. He called an insurance broker, and chose a protection plan. At the end of the conversation, the broker asked him for his email address. The man replied: ' I don't have an email.' The broker was dumbfounded. "You don't have an email, and yet have succeeded in building an empire. Can you imagine what you could have been if you had an email?," he exclaimed. The man thought for a while, and replied, "an office boy" If you just lost your Job or Just failed an Interview Don't worry be Optimistic.. Something good is reserved for you because everything happens for a reason

@WifiMoneyPlant My dad is 90 and had a stroke several years ago but his math skills (without a calculator) are still better than most adults I know! Definitely something being lost when you rely on gadgets/devices for math, navigation, and now writing!

His response floored me. "Sometimes I forget words now. I'm so used to having ChatGPT complete my thoughts that when it's not there, my brain feels... slower." He'd been using AI for everything. Writing, thinking, communication. It had become his external brain. And now his internal one was getting weaker. Made me think about calculators. Remember how teachers said we needed to learn math because "you won't always have a calculator"? They were wrong about that. But maybe they were right about something deeper. We're running the first large-scale experiment on human cognition. What happens when an entire generation outsources their thinking? Don’t get me wrong, I’m beyond excited about what AI and AI agents will do for people in the same way that I was excited in 2009 when the App Store was launched. But thinking out loud you got to think this guy I met with isn't the onnnnnly one that's going to be completely dependent on AI.

Just had a fascinating lunch with a 22-year-old Stanford grad. Smart kid. Perfect resume. Something felt off though. He kept pausing mid-sentence, searching for words. Not complex words - basic ones. Like his brain was buffering. Finally asked if he was okay. His response…

Ok my fellow Senior Friends, who doesn’t like to save some money 💵 FYI EVERYONE!!! I heard a guy ask for his senior discount @ Wendy's, The girl at the register apologized and charged him less. When I asked the man what the discount was, he told me that seniors over age 55 ...get 10% off everything on the menu, every day. (But you need to ASK for your discount.)
