Is this what Simeon Brown meant by a 'sensible' approach to speed limits? Crashes which kill children? This child might not be dead if Brown and the government did not increase speed limits, against all evidence, to fuel an ideological culture war so they could rile up votes.

That interchange is the size of a small town and will deal with fewer vehicles a day then many of the local roads on the shore. What’s going on?

Warkworth to Te Hana - aside from the woeful traffic numbers here, surely we can just use roundabouts initially rather than ginormous spenny full motorway interchanges. Upgrade them later

Reminder - Simeon Brown and Cabinet signed off a rule change that said if a local authority lowered speed limits with schools as one of the reasons, they had to increase them. Let me repeat that, if speed limits were lowered because a school was nearby, Brown forced an increase.

Oh yeah so senior executives in Auckland Transport are still doubling down on bringing back cars to Queen Street, despite receiving a ton of emails, the local board opposing, and ya know THE IMPENDING FUEL CRISIS THAT PROBABLY MEANS WE SHOULDN'T BE ENCOURAGING DRIVING RIGHT NOW
