@Mengu09 @Boggememes I think part of the problem is the cost of standard decks. If you’re mainly a Modern player and not already invested in Standard, buying one of the top decks would require a significant investment - and a lot of the cards are unlikely to be playable in other formats.

@Boggememes I think this standard is great with lots of variety and very fun gameplay, but magic players in my aerea - and it seems like a trend outside of USA - just prefer other paper formats to Standard and these promos arent high enough incentives for them to be interested.

Please Wotc allow stores to run these events in formats that aren't exclusively Standard. I want to be able to compete in events locally with some nice prize support from Wotc, nobody plays Standard in my aerea, these events aren't firing.

@mtgbanding …a Scryfall search led me to the basic Plains, and when I realised those were the only five cards Rob had done in Onslaught it all made sense, and I thought the swap explanation was just way more likely than any other. I kinda thought everyone else must already have noticed 😂

@mtgbanding Well… Rob Alexander is one of my favourite Magic artists, particularly his lands, and I’d always thought it was weird that there was a cycle where he’d done 4/5 - but recently a friend and I were debating (arguing) about who did the best basic lands and… (1/2)

@AustinDunno @AliceFromQueens I mean… the entire VC industry exists basically to throw cash at 25 year old kids with startups that are 90% likely to go to zero. You think somebody won’t come up with a profitable way to also lend them cash to pay their capital gains tax? Have a little faith in the system.

You saying a 25 year old kid that has a couple mil in unrealized cap gains the second his first seed round hits (before he even starts to code or make a sale) are going to be able to borrow a half a million to a million at pay taxes, even though its 90%+ likely that it goes to zero?
