@autcareandshare Love that . Thanks for sharing.. people being nice shouldn't be that heart warming, it should be a matter of course. But it is heartwarming

The Barbie box was too busy last week when we watched Barbie, so we waited in the line today as it wasn't as busy, but Ryan was still getting a little anxious, a girl and her mum who were waiting in front of us kindly asked Ryan if he wanted to go next , it makes all the difference when people show kindness and don't Judge.

Ryan used to only eat lunchables, to encourage him to try different foods I would put different foods out and let it it be his choice wether her ate them or not eventually he would try different foods, then we started going to food markets where Ryan could taste more of a variety of food , any he liked I'd take pictures of or take a note of what they were called ,he's grown particularly fond of trying different cheeses , this has taken years not days or weeks but years .

@MrBoothY6 @BooksandChokers Read this with my y6 class last term after I heard 'autisitc ' being used as name calling . So much understanding now, with some children saying its the best book they've read this year as they could relate.

Meltdowns clearly and compassionately described. Wish I'd known all this when my kids were very small.

Appreciate it's short notice, but I'm running my Whole Class Reading In KS2 training via Zoom on Thursday at 3pm. It's usually just under two hours long and will include class novel sessions, wider curriculum delivery, planning, questioning etc. Please RT! eventbrite.com/e/whole-class-…

This totally fits with my experience. Indeed one of my daughters was originally diagnosed with attachment disorder before the asd.

Hey, if you have a DX of ADHD, but your life has inexplicably fallen apart when you got older *Statistically* it’s Autism & probably one or two servings of CPTSD. You don’t have to take my word for it, ask the thousands of AuDHDers who went through that mindfork too.
