Todays notes/Hot take - Being a great vendor is the ultimate mastery of the collecting journey. From knowledge of cards, conditions, grading, understanding comps, predicting future trends, and all while understanding how to work with other humans. Then add noise and distractions, coupled with a high pressure selling environment - Their compeition is 2 strides away, vending successfully/being a great vendor shows true and complete understanding of the hobby. I have a massive level of respect for the table w/ $800 in inventory, understanding the level of passion and knowledge that person even has to have to be there at 7AM to throw their mini-mona lisas or dudes w/ baseball bats all over the table w/ prices on them. I think if you want expand your potential as collector of Sports, MTG, OP, whatever TCG or collector focused hobby, trying vending is the ultimate way to streamline.
