@dru_jlh I've gone 80% for IMT1 and honestly I will not be going back, the rota is bad enough now, never mind doing 7 days straight 😬

Being a full time trainee is no joke is it? I’ve spent the vast majority of my weekend so far on work - portfolio, revising for membership exams, preparing for PILS/NLS, audit/QI and I’ve still more to do. Telling myself it will all get easier/be worth it in time…

For such a long time I’ve been dreading getting to the point of needing to sit membership exams because revising for exams on top of a 48hr/week rota just seemed so rancid. But now that it’s here, to my surprise I’ve actually been quite enjoying it 🤓📖

@Jkbmedic I'd like to not have to sit on a bin 🤷🏻‍♂️

I’d settle for: (1) A computer that turned on in less than 15 minutes. (2) A clinic room that didn’t take from Monday to Wednesday to warm up.

@bobbert_ Just had mine quoted (my neighbour), £175/day and should take 3 days for living room and hall/stairs/landing, so seems reasonable. He did say the living room didn't add much time as it's easy space and can do it between coats in the other areas.

Was looking for the community FB group for the village where we’re moving and there’s a “Village Name Community Forum”, “THE ORIGINAL Village Name Community Forum” and “Village Name UNCENSORED Community Forum”. I just know there has been DRAMA & I cannot wait to learn the lore

@b_d4512 Lots of nights and lates. Barely any 'normal' days so I'm basically constantly adjusting time zones or exhausted. I'm going into Paeds next, which I'm not sure is a much better rota 🙃 what about you?

@_andy_pandy_ It’s really tough isn’t it! Are you doing loads of nights and lates too? Really tough, my intention to study for it is there but physically the exhaustion is real 😭 what do you go onto next?

Anyone else in a sticky situation? F2 with no idea what to do next year, F3 doesn’t seem it’s an option, can’t go abroad as commitments at home, on a busy A&E rota with mostly nights so too exhausted to study for MSRA. Quite daunting with so much uncertainty for next August 😳

Why do people come to spin class and not do the actual workout?! They just pedal in the back and do their own thing. Just go cycle in the gym!!!! 🙄

Night shift haze so unclear what day/month/year it is so elected a run would help....it did not.

We’ve just had an invite to the local Resident Association’s inaugural meeting! I am intrigued to go to see what they are talking about and who is organising it …

@doctor_dru_ The one and only time I've done it was when there was a clear threat to the patient themselves and other members of staff, plus a clear plan from psych etc. no one should be pressured into it. It's really hard but we really can't dish out the sedation every time

I often really feel for nursing staff who are on ridiculous staffing ratios trying to manage patients with challenging/concerning behaviours - that isn’t however a reason to prescribe, and I have more than once contacted duty matron myself to request additional help for the ward

#TipsForNewDocs No is a wholly acceptable response to a request for sedation. Pharmacological measures should *only* be used if a pt poses risks to themselves/others AND said risks can’t be mitigated with non-pharmacological measures AND benefits of sedation outweigh risks.

@Dr_DeanS I've had mine about 5 years. Last year was best crop...keep the new shoots that have grown this year, cut down the ones that grew last year. Seems to work for me!

Since moving the raspberry plant has been thriving. It's creating so many new branches but it's not giving me any bloody raspberries Any ideas?

@marinadpol Question"Would you call an ambulance/GP in the middle of the night for this?" Most cannulas can wait til morning. Eat properly and develop a Nightshift routine to optimise sleep time. Personally, I don't nap on shift and I sleep better at home for it, but everyone is different.
