It can’t be both of these at once, however, Thomas Massie will play one character to one audience, to Twitter, and an entirely different character to other media markets, likely Facebook, TV and possibly YouTube. This is a textbook definition of being a two-faced politician. What this also means, however, is that Massie believes that it is vital to the success of his political campaign that he be able to portray himself as a fighter and a servant to Donald J Trump. Iran, the Epstein Files, and Israel are things which actually do not matter as much for a Republican candidate, at least not so much that their association with Trump is somehow a dead letter for election. Thomas Massie believes that in order to remain in political office, he must at least have the perception of being aligned with Donald Trump. He cannot run on purely being an Anti-Trump Republican as he’s portrayed himself to this one specific audience. That means that no, Trump is not actually a dead letter, and anyone seeking election needs to align themselves with Trump, and will in the midterms, and they will in 2028, and almost certainly, will need to portray themselves as his successors and carrying on his fight for all elections to come for the foreseeable future.
