@MichaelBowers15 @Kevsol I think his versatility may be a hinderence. He doesn't start at fullback ahead of Mukiele or Hume, CB ahead of Ballard or Alderete or CM ahead of Sadiki or Xhaka. I also suspect players that are likely to be here next season are being priotitised (similar to Cirkin not playing)

@Kevsol Geertrudia in particular is what baffles me, unless there’s something behind the scenes we don’t know about which could change my mind. Bar one or two off games, he’s generally been very good when played yet continuously doesn’t get used. Mental in my opinion.

Le Bris has been great all season, and got a lot more right than wrong, but he's managed Talbi, Geertruida and Diarra (in a different way to the other 2) appallingly this season. In a race for Europe, with our squad, those fine margins are always gonna cost you.

@DougieCritchley 5th goal is probs the one I'm least concerned about. Game was gone and Mukiele and Ballard were on the halfway line. Not really a reflection of the team. Conceding from 3 set-pieces in 20 minutes is the real concern

Ok caught up with the Sunderland highlights… Fair play to Forest, played like a side with it all on the line. Vitor Pereira deserves enormous credit. Pleased for Elliot Anderson too. But some of our defending, particularly for that 5th goal… tragically bad. A level I haven’t seen this season. It’s really been our defence that has created our season, so to concede 9 in our last 2, troubling!

What I can’t stand is Premier League neutrals. Every time Sunderland lose they get absolutely dragged. “Shit all year”, “relegated next season”. Not once have we been in a relegation scrap when every single one of you said we’d be down by Christmas. Squad is knackered.

@UnderTheLight73 I said the same. The way we play, the keeper's probably going to get caught every now and again. It happens. Defending set pieces and not reacting to a short corner is awful. For it to happen 3 times, the players are either on the beach or we need a new set-piece coach

@BolamDillan @sunderlandafc11 Issue is that he's a couple years older than Rigg, same age as Sadiki, only a year younger than Diarra. He must have something about him for the club to have kept him around the first team as long as they have but there's no chance he's here long term

@Capt_Fishpaste Which is one of the reasons our fans need to be patient with some of our signings. Being 15/20/30m doesn't mean that they won't still be inconsistent and developing. Likes of Diarra, Talbi and Angulo should all be better next season.

He's right, by the way. #SAFC finished 16th in the Championship the season after finishing 6th, but beneath that the likes of Hume, Ballard, Rigg, Neil, O'Nien, Cirkin etc were developing into the players who got us promoted and that we see today.

I understand the concerns about RLB but we're currently 3 points from European places. Loads of injuries. I know we've made some expensive signings but we still have a lot of young, inconsistent players that will only get better. He's earned the chance to be here next season imo

Sadly not. I think if we stay up this summer we’ve got to be as brutal and as ruthless as possible. No room for sentiment anymore, that includes isidor’s, mayenda, cirkin etc. we need more quality in depth than has been shown especially last week.

If Roefs is out we're missing our starting goalkeeper, 2 of our starting back 4 (and a backup left back), a couple of wingers and our starting striker

If I was a Leeds fan, I'd be feeling very confident too. Some big absentees in the Sunderland side and Leeds have been excellent at home in the games they'd be expecting to win. I'm not sure any Premier League game is easy to predict nowadays though, and #SAFC can always compete
