The NBA canceled its game in Minneapolis today because the league felt it wasn’t safe to play. The NHL is currently playing in Minneapolis and had zero issues with playing its game. The NBA’s decision was 100% political. Good for the NHL on playing.

For the “you shouldn’t be punished for playing an extra game” crowd. 2017: Auburn beats Alabama and Georgia in the regular season, but loses to Georgia 28-7 in the SECCG. It was their 3rd loss. Alabama was idle and got into the CFP. So Auburn was “punished” for playing (poorly) in the game. 2022: USC lost the PAC 12CG. They moved out of the top 4.  Ohio State was idle and moved into the top 4. It happens. Make the argument on the body of work. Not on some principle that doesn’t exist.
