@JustWantToGrill Feeling ugly today because of the [checks notes] private ownership of capital
English

@ZakEbrahim If you narrowly define “capitalism thriving” as “stock market goes up” then sure. Not sure how you look at the numbers on small business closures and unemployment claims and think the economy as a whole is thriving. The economy ≠ financial markets ≠ capitalism.

@drilosophers I like that framing of "was denied tenure at Harvard"
English

@jasonintrator I like to think that academia holds itself to higher epistemic standards than the government, on average
English

@ZubyMusic Just say you don’t understand statistics and move on. The average is obviously skewed downward by premature and accidental deaths.

@samueljrob @FerrisState I don’t know how it’s possible, but the tweets were even dumber and weirder than I was expecting

Read this unbelievable statement from a @FerrisState professor placed on administrative leave Monday.
He touches on everything from his use of the n-word, to the legitimacy of the moon landing.
“The entire world has fallen under the spell of a satanic, globalist elite.”

@lhfang @mattyglesias The incentives are also such that everyone is trying to outcompete each other for the most outrageous-within-the-bounds-of-believable takes because that’s what drives clicks and views. The result is often a hot mess of stupidity.
English

@JTasioulas Supererogatory acts are a gigantic intellectual cop out, yet remain fairly widely used in moral frameworks
English

@himbonomics No, I’m agreeing with you. Saying the labor theory of value is as archaic as Newtonian mechanics.
