The entertainment sector has played a vital role in our national recovery efforts, and I thank all those who have donated, volunteered, and used their platforms to help rebuild lives across our island. I want to especially commend Romeich Major for his outstanding leadership and compassion in supporting Jamaica’s hurricane relief initiatives.

🚨#Update Yesterday a video went viral claiming that good went missing from a relief package that was sent. An investigation was immediately launched and in the interest of transparency I must share the details of the findings. The goods arrived on Tuesday and were cleared immediately by the customs broker. They never went to any room or offsite location. It went straight from the plane on the tarmac to the receiving truck sent for the goods. Items were all wrapped and sealed in the same manner in which they were received. The priority and system put in place since the hurricane can been to ensure quick processing and turnovers. So these items never left the “runway”. They went from plane to truck.

A friend of mine said this to me earlier today: “I drove past a field with more than a dozen dead cows; bloated & rotting. The animals are particularly covered by water. This is the same water flowing through the streets & people's homes. People are walking through it.”
