Julia Ducournau's Alpha is a good example of how winning a Palme d'Or can blind your "artistry" to necessary scrutiny. I like to think that, if she didn't win the Palme, someone would have told Ducournau that portraying AIDS victims as shambling hordes of zombies is a bad idea.
