The navy has its purposes Strategic Deterrence, Sea Control, Projection of Power Ashore, Naval Presence, This comes in forms such as deny freedom of movement for Ukraine, degrade Ukraine commerce by reducing maritime shipping, assisting the Russian Air Force with strikes. Each Russian warship that gets sunk or damaged and is removed from the battlefield gives Ukraine more freedom of movement and over the last 6 months we have seen a return to maritime commerce for Ukraine which in turn increases their economy which in turn increases tax revenue for the war effort. Each ship that is taken off the battlefield also reduces Russia's strike capabilities particularly in southern and western Ukraine primarily carried out by the Russian Navy, which means the Russian Air Force will have to pick up the slack. As the Russian Black Sea Fleet is degraded, this also reduces the ability for Russia to provide deterrence on Ukraine on targeting Crimea, reduces Russia's freedom of movement in the black sea, threatens Russian maritime commerce and endangers Russian SLOC and GLOC.
