@mOkapendi @EliasHaimbili Of course our leaders will align themselves with that because they want to continue with looting, corruption and enrich themselves as they wish... Your freedom would be gone if it isn't for American intervention to ensure world leaders comply otherwise we would be doomed

@mOkapendi @EliasHaimbili Fellow Namibians are stupid, they think joining Russia, China and North Korea will comes with opportunities, imagine supporting dictators , countries where democracy doesn't exist, where you can not challenge a seating dictator and no freedom of speech.......

Personally, I support Starlink as long as it complies with our laws. We already use platforms that collect our data, so the focus should be on regulation and benefits, National Security. People with no computer and networking knowledge are so stupid sowar. My GOAT knows.

In Namibia, the law is very clear, 51% MUST be owned by LOCALS! We don’t care who you are. Comply or pack up! Finish! Starlink this, Starlink that! Tell Elon Musk that it’s very simple! Whether his is to spy on us or not, that’s NOT the bone of contention. It’s the 51%! Finish!

@certifiedresp Oh... I mean, we are too relaxed now because of that ideology.. thinking no threat, as we are an enemy to none.

We became too relaxed, man. UN won't come to our aid anymore. Cuba is fighting their own battles. We don't have a direct military intervention agreement with Russia nor China, India.. Oil oil... Being an enemy to none ideology is useless in the current world geopolitical sphere.
The Government@iTheGovernment

@IThaListener With type of mentality, we won’t come anywhere close to Iranian military strength. Mind you, the defense budget is still under N$8B

@iTheGovernment @IThaListener Most of it goes to salary and buying irrelevant things, the defence lacks research and development skills and capabilities that can be transformed into something that could become a force multiplier

Namibia must never bend its laws or compromise its sovereignty for any investor, no matter how rich. Starlink did not meet our standards, simple. And as for Elon Musk, he has consistently fallen short of the kind of character we value. That is not who we are..

@fireshikomba It has done so to Chinese and Russians, the regime wants to join force with dictators..... The freedom of speech will be gone if we continue supporting the nonsense!! The corruption is evidence of the slow shift from democracy to dictatorship

THREAD!! 2024 appointed as a parliamentary candidate by the President of IPC the official opposition in Namibia. At the time, I saw it as service, I didn’t fully expect the cost that comes with exercising a right our Constitution guarantees: belonging to a party of your choice

What followed was a crash course in quiet sidelining, the kind young Namibians know too well when they back an opposition voice. Opportunities dry up. Networks shift. You learn how “democratic right” can feel like a professional risk when you’re young and visible.

I’m not sharing the whole story here (it’s in my book, (The Power of Perseverance), but I will say this: Namibian youth often fight to stay true to their beliefs without paying a hidden price. That resilience deserves a louder conversation.
