@DanMcGowan RI can't keep paying lower than the other states around us and expect to retain or hire high-quality candidates. Government salaries are not far beyond those in the private sector. The assumption that State employees don't work hard is outdated and false.

Because competitive salaries for important government jobs are a good thing. The people who say "I'd do it for half" aren't the people we want making key decisions.

Tonight, the Senate finally corrects a fifty-year mistake by passing the Social Security Fairness Act. Millions of retired teachers and firefighters and letter carriers and state and local workers have waited decades for this moment. No longer will public retirees see their hard-earned Social Security benefits robbed from them, thanks to this bill.

Rep. Morgan, you continue to get the facts wrong. Mail ballots ALREADY must be received by the time polls close on Election Day. RI’s new law allows for mail ballot apps. (not ballots) to be accepted within 3 days of the deadline so long as they are postmarked by the deadline.

Attempting to vilify students and scare people into voting against a bond is gross. I hope others see thru the nonsense.
