I think this made me think a lot about Isayama and how fan perspective influenced his characterization of Eren and the ending. He has said a couple times now that he seems himself in Eren in a meta sense. I think it's an interesting angle to see the manga from (short thread)

@natisneato I think people have a limited imagination for what subversiveness can be too. Like I wouldn't hold up Spec Ops The Line as a great example of that tbh

OOP is stupid but I don't really think a distaste for discomforting, subversive storytelling is specific to Gamers. If anything, it probably reflects well on the medium that so many games that grapple with depictions of violence in media are fully mainstream and broadly popular.

Only unfortunate thing is that they stopped airing Lunch On! which was like my favorite show ever made. But the NHK World-Japan site still has so much awesome stuff for free
