I am all for cutting benefits, and would have a moratorium on claims by foreign nationals. But, for the love of God, can we please stop pretending that that would solve our fiscal problems.

PSA: Pensioner Spending is the single largest line item here - *£160bn*. More than half of all benefit spending. More than NHS England, or all NHS Providers. Want to pay less tax? Reduce the benefits we give to people who’ve had an entire life to prepare and save.

Here's an idea: replace the triple lock with a *QUADRUPLE LOCK* pegged to these four timeless principles: 1. Pensions will NEVER go down in cash terms 2. Pensions will NEVER go down in real terms 3. Pensions will RISE every year 4. Pensions will GO UP in line with CPI inflation

One day, a politician will have the bollocks to say in public what they're quite happy to say when the microphone is off, and that is this. The Triple lock is unaffordable and must go. We all know it. And I say that as someone who in four years would benefit from it.

My view on it is that we shouldn’t burden those who have paid into the system for years. We generate plenty of money it’s all how it’s spent. Should the party look to get younger voters ? Yes absolutely. But there is a growing number of people who want to be rewarded for their hard work. Not punished

If you want "the biggest cuts to the benefits system" then you simply cannot ignore the single largest category: those that go to pensioners.
Not to mention Nigel perpetuates the myth that these people "paid in" to the system - it's funded by taxation on workers today!

This is actually quite good, I live in a village and ppl have to wait a full 1 hour for the next bus if they miss one because it passed through the stop too early.
I would dread having to get a bus where I live so hopefully this is a bit of help.
