The real flex in having a car is owning it, keeping it clean & running, and driving it with pride. A well-maintained car beats a neglected luxury ride every single time. Drive it. Own it. Maintain it.  #CarCare #CarMaintenance #TheContentDriver #AutoTips

@EleniyanDemigod @Ol0ye The shift from reliability to aesthetics and performance. Too many electrical components in Mordern cars. Also, naturally aspirated engines are going out due to strict emission rules.

CVT from Toyota and Honda are not bad. Many lasts over 300k miles. You just need to maintain them. 1. Change the oil. Use the right oil. A bad oil can’t withstand heat. 2. When you come to a stop, no march am😂 to move again. Accelerate gradually. 3. Don’t tow

@GreatRober49687 Why does the CVT develope fault easily? Most especially the CVT in the 2015/16 Corolla

However, if your car burns oil as a result of manufacturer’s error e.g Toyota matrix 2003-2008. using a thicker oil is better. Hence why some mechanic advise semi- synthetic like 10w 40. The engine doesn’t mind. So it works.

What this means in simpler terms is that: a less viscous oil e.g 5w 20 that stays in grade for a longer time is better than a thicker oil (5w 30 or higher) that degrades faster. This is why quality of oil matters. Always follow your car manual recommendation.

@NurudeenDIdris @Otunbakush1 This is a popular opinion. But Motor geek oil did an experiment. In his experiment, the main thing is to buy an oil with good shear stability. Also, some engines have tighter tolerance. If you car manufacturer recommends 5W 30 for your car in other regions, asides US, use it.

@NurudeenDIdris @Otunbakush1 But, if no, stick to 5W 20. If your car has a high mileage. Maybe Over 100k miles, look for 5W 20 (high mileage). Here is an example. Note: This just an example. Other oil companies like Liqui Molly and Mobil 1 have as well.

@Otunbakush1 @realmetrah @holtby01 “The 5W-30 mobile one full synthetic is what was recommended for this car, the oil handles heat better, also protects engine in hot weather like ours, but no, u people use XHP or Hardex on cars like this.”

@ichieEmy Maybe it's called hardex because all you'll get is hardened oil deposits when it's done with your engine?

Why you don’t see Volvo cars often in Nigeria 👀 It’s not because they’re bad cars – Parts aren’t easy to find – Not many mechanics understand them well – Resale value isn’t strong So most people just stick to Toyota @samy_wizy @GrailArchive #Cartwitter
