@KentonVarda CAN SPAM doesn't really give regular citizens right to private civil action, though right? My understanding is you have to wait for the FTC or an AG to sue on your behalf, which they never do

The fifth follow-up email is the point where I snap and inform the recruiter that the lack of an unsubscribe link on their obviously-automated message is a violation of US CAN-SPAM law subject to statutory damages of $500/email. They usually don't send another message after that.

This is even worse than I imagined. The victim was trying to help a person pushed to the ground by the agent when he was maced, wrestled to the ground and then shot and killed. No justification for this shooting.

Ten years ago, I created r/EndTipping and the first tracker of restaurants that have abandoned the practice. I haven't been involved in a few years, but pretty cool to see that 200,000 people now visit the sub each week. Tipping is a bad system, folks.

@dhh @wycats Why is Arko's trademark claim fraudulent? The original creators don't get perpetual trademark rights. They have to exercise the mark, which it seems like Arko did and the creators have not for years.

Bundler was created by @wycats together with Carl Lerche. Bananas for a later contributor to think they can usurp creatorship by fraudulently claiming trademark. But guess it tracks with illegally accessing servers after termination. Wild though. rubycentral.org/news/source-of…

A personal update... after nearly 20 years at Google, today is my last day! I'm going to be working on independent research for the foreseeable future, then who knows! I've worked with so many talented people, made so many friends and seen incredible research over the years 🫡
