@derSteve @climate_ice I think the possible future calculations are a little hard to predict, but the connection to aviation is at least something that people can grasp. The abstraction of carbon emissions via data centres from what we do in terms of "just coding" is horrific.

@climate_ice you mentioned in the infoq podcast that the carbon footprint of data center is today equivalent to aviation. Is there a study that proves that number that I can use as a source for this quote?
