Check out my book. A lot of people are jumping into this space with no clue why we do things the way we do. I'm trying to educate the world on healthcare IT and interoperability. @HL7

AI is shifting from answering questions to acting on our behalf. That makes safety, security, and oversight far more important. At #SXSW today, @NumaDhamani and Maggie Engler, authors of Intro to Gen AI, 2nd Ed, are discussing what responsible AI autonomy looks like in their talk "Safety and Security in the Age of AI Autonomy." Watch virtually or attend at 1pm CT: hubs.la/Q047ddXN0 Explore their book — 45% off with code dhensxsw26 through March 31st: hubs.la/Q047djWy0

Good point! In the chapters currently available, not explicitly. That said, it does cover items relevant to multi-hop retrieval chains, like operations/monitoring and feedback loops. Additionally, if you have a certain eval angle you care about most, like faithfulness per hop, there's likely a section on it that provides some guidance for building it into a governance-ready test plan.

@abhinav_kimothi @LeemayNassery @ManningBooks Counterfactual evals are underrated — most teams stop at offline accuracy and miss the "what would the model have said with different context" question entirely. In agentic RAG pipelines especially, that gap bites hard. Does the book cover eval for multi-hop retrieval chains?

Choosing an AI algorithm isn't the hard part. But choosing the right one? Yeah, that's a different story. Grokking AI Algorithms, 2nd Ed. by @RishalHurbans breaks down not just how algorithms work, but when and why to use them, so you can apply them with confidence, not guesswork. Spring Boot testing goes way beyond @SpringBootTest. To build fast, reliable test suites, you need to understand slice tests, context management, lifecycles, and how @springcentral fits into the broader testing ecosystem. Testing Spring Boot Applications by Daniel Garnier-Moiroux breaks down how it all actually works, so you can test with intent, not guesswork. Spring and Boot always have struck me as unusual names for a framework. Someday I'll have to ask someone about the history behind those choices. There's no doubt though that Spring Boot is the play in the Enterprise Java space, and I'm pleased to present Testing Spring Boot Applications by Daniel Garnier-Moiroux as one of our newest additions to the Manning Early Access Program. @kehrlann @springboot #Spring #Boot #Testing #Java @java @ManningBooks manning.com/books/testing-…

Agent frameworks make it easy to build fast. But when something breaks, debugging can feel like trying to fix a system you didn't build. Build an AI Agent (From Scratch) shows how agent systems actually work. You'll implement a ReAct loop, work with MCP and A2A protocols, and build a custom assistant step by step. By the end, you'll have a full end-to-end agent. Chapter 1 summary: hubs.la/Q046Z0QZ0

📣 Deal of the Day 📣 Mar 18 HALF OFF NEW MEAP! Retrieval Augmented Generation, The Seminal Papers & selected titles: hubs.la/Q047l6-50 Explore the foundational research papers that explain why RAG works, how it’s built, and what makes it different from other approaches. @benji1a #RAG #InformationRetrieval #DenseRetrieval #HybridSearch #LLMs This book illuminates techniques that empower systems to retrieve intelligently, evaluate themselves, and recover from errors. Over 40 code samples, architectural diagrams, and industry case studies make each concept easy to understand. As you master the patterns behind RAG, you’ll better understand tradeoffs, diagnose failures, and effectively evaluate and improve your own RAG implementations.

@MuhuiC Currently, the plan is drop a MEAP that zeroes in on the architecture next week. No promises, though. Occasionally, MEAPs have to be pushed out due to various logistical issues. That said, we'll have something out soon.

Living this every day — building multi-agent systems means 90% of my time is spent on orchestration, retry logic, and state management. The model just executes; the system has to be resilient. This is why agent frameworks are exploding right now.
Manning Publications@ManningBooks

The hard part of AI isn't always the model anymore. It's the system around it. Agent workflows, tool use, verification loops, orchestration — all the pieces needed to make multi-step AI tasks actually work in production. @rasbt digs into this shift on @twimlait: hubs.la/Q046F0wR0 Explore his books and more in the Future of AI bundle: hubs.la/Q046F1G60

Shipping AI products quickly teaches one thing: It’s not enough for your LLM to know things. You also need governance. @JenniferFu88011 wrote about how LLM wrappers act as the layer between applications and models. Her article: hubs.la/Q046LPqR0 She also points to AI Governance by @enginbozdag and Stefano Bennati for a deeper look at the problem. The book explores how to manage generative AI in production — covering security, bias, privacy, cost control, and regulatory considerations. More on the book: hubs.la/Q046LN1V0
