If a Product Manager wants to be really good at design and software engineering, who are the best people to follow on Twitter?

@doriantaylor @cydharrell @ursonate I would say they did listen to users. Consumers were seduced by it and asked for it. No one WATCHED users or CARED that they would DIE as long as they could meet regulatory requirements and still sell cars.

@cydharrell Hmm. I'm not sure I'm sold that this is really changing? This was the very first thing Tom Tullis said when he rode in a car w/ a touchscreen in (2001?), so it was OBVIOUS. And cars *have* to pass NHTSA driver distraction testing to get on the road, so where's the change?

@KatyWellhousen Makes sense until you’re 75+ and on a limited budget and suddenly rent is 80% of your income. Hell, many people without rent control already have sticker shock from their rents doubling (?) in the last 5 years.

as a 33-year-old who plans to always live in a large metro area, i'm having a hard time seeing the benefit to ever owning a home (especially given that i am currently rent controlled) anyone else not really have this on their grownup to-do list?

@perfectKeming @mataleo_gml @marcopesani Over the course of my career, I’ve worked on credit card statements, instruction manuals, medical devices with no digital component, bed linens, packaging, speech recognition systems, physical auto infotainment controls and more.

@mataleo_gml @marcopesani I’m not saying user experience doesn’t exist. What’s an example of a design decision that gets implemented in an experience and not the software?

UX and Product Designers could eliminate so much ambiguity if we just called ourselves Software Designers.

@amyhoy What are you going to do on it? 42.5" seems low for any standing activity, including just viewing. My sit/stand maxes out at 48" and I still need my monitor mounts just standing on the floor, never mind a treadmill.

got my under-desk treadmill but no desk for it…  i don't need it to be adjustable, & i’m not gonna type on it, so i'm looking for ways to cheap out. i'm thinking 2 low billy bookcases + table top… 41.75" tall + 0.75" for the top = 42.5" total before tax: $187 & STORAGE

@earth_andrew Heck, I won't even do one unless someone else pays for it. No way will I see ROI on that expense.

@gizellie Probably not inspiring, but easy - Chicken Whatever. Put chicken breasts in 9x13 pan. Add 1 bottle of salad dressing/marinade/BBQ sauce/whatever of your choice. Bake at 400-425 until any salmonella is dead. Enjoy w/ rice and/or side of steamed frozen veggies.

@conniechiiiwa Sometimes I say, "You know how we have ergonomic keyboards to fit the way your hands naturally work, or ergonomic chairs to fit the way your body naturally sits? We make sure (physical or digital products/websites/apps) fit the way your brain naturally works."
