An Albanian man known as the “chicken nugget migrant” has won an appeal to stay in the UK after claiming deportation would be too harsh on his son. Klevis Disha entered Britain illegally as a 15 year old in 2001 under a false name and later gained UK citizenship. He was jailed in 2017 for being found with £250,000 in criminal cash, prompting the Home Office to try to deport him. The case grabbed attention after reports highlighted that according to Klevis, his son, who has sensory issues and a very limited diet, would struggle abroad, because the type of chicken nuggets available elsewhere were not as good as they are in Britain. Yes, really... A judge ruled deporting Disha would disproportionately harm his child’s private and family life, overturning the earlier decision.
