Just some notes from the Cape Verde vs. Spain match today in the Epstein World Cup:
1. Spain totally dominated the game but still couldn't score. Possession means nothing without production.
2. Cape Verde has no offence—no strikers, no wingers—and it shows. If I were in charge of their FA, I'd be having a very serious conversation with the coach.
3. If Spain can be shut down this easily by a good defence, then Spain will not hoist the World Cup. Yes, I said it. Not with a performance like today.
4. If Cape Verde can find their groove again and remind their strikers what the actual aim of the game is, they could surprise even themselves. That said, they played with a BIG heart today. Well done, Cape Verde.
5. And lastly, we may have just seen the best goalkeeper in the tournament so far: Vozinha. He. Was. Brilliant.
