The mass exodus of teachers from the profession concerns many in the profession including me. I know it has been said before, but everyone I talk to who has left, none of them have left because of the kids. Not a single one. /2

I wish I could turn off this part of me that cares deeply for people. I feel their pain all over if they are hurting and I want to turn it off.

Two teachers can teach the same curriculum with the same activities—and get completely different results. Because in the end, it’s the teacher who brings the curriculum to life. There’s no way around that.

Great teachers have high expectations for their students, but higher expectations for themselves.
