@ElenaAl40850474 ahh yeah, now i get it. i agree, like i said somewhere in my post, they’re just using this for a gender based argument, and are dog piling on ilia for this feminist agenda that they keep pushing. it’s so stupid really 🫩

just saw this on tt— i love both ilia and sasha hands down, but aint no way people are comparing these two situations and pitting the two against each other. gtfo.

@ElenaAl40850474 and sasha was 17, and those were her first olympics. of course she is an olympian and a professional, and should have kept her cool, but alas. the point is, these athletes shouldn’t be compared by how emotional or non emotional they were about a win or loss.

@ElenaAl40850474 i agree. kaori was emotional as well, but not without reason. the frustration with sasha stems from the fact that she believed she was entitled to the win, if she landed all her quads. again, even kaori and sasha can’t really be compared, kaori was 26 this olympic cycle +

@whoscarois absolutely, i talked about this earlier today. i get sports has to do with a lot of national pride, but it’s literally supposed to be fun and in good spirits. why are we bringing politics and war into sports? sports were supposed to be the one place where we keep that out 😭

@ninine6972 even on posts that have nothing to do with other people, open the comments and you will see pictures of other skaters (namely hanyu because fanyus are insufferable) or someone will start a convo about how overrated he is, and how backflips suck and how he didn’t do it first 😭💀

@SequinedSpirals people just can’t accept that sasha did get very emotional, to the point where others were uncomfortable. but in my mind, it’s also valid considering the pressure she was under, and her age. it wasn’t the best reaction to give, but it was raw and honest.

@eggietarrts Ilia was gracious & an outstanding example of good sportsmanship. Meanwhile, Sasha had to be cajoled into accepting the medal she won because she was such a delusional, ungrateful twit.

@eggietarrts Whoops. I misunderstood! I just watched it all and, yeah, no, there is ZERO comparison btwn how Ilia handled himself & how Sasha handled herself at their Olympics.

@eggietarrts Sorry, but, no. Neither should have won. Ilia cracked under the pressure in the individual event (which was one of the most painful moments of my FS fandom) & Sasha was not as complete a skater as Anna.

@ninine6972 yup, not a single video about him, unless it’s to put him down. no offence to these girls, it’s just insecure and bored people hiding behind these skaters and using them as leverage. 🤷‍♀️

@whoscarois normal considering the aforementioned circumstances. ilia imo held his emotions in check pretty well. both of them should be given grace, not pitted against each other for views because ilia’s haters have nothing better to do than click on his name and like criticism abt him.

@whoscarois which of course exists, but is entirely unrelated to ilia in this case. sasha was 17 and had an emotional reaction after one of the most significant skates of her career, and ilia was 21, and had a disaster skate on the most “important” night of his life. sasha’s reaction was +

these two extremely talented young people with incredible willpower, athleticism and talent, will continue to push this sport, and have already left their mark on it. using them as fuel for some… feminist propaganda of unfair treatment is baffling. do better. 🖕🖖

ilia and sasha are in many ways mirrors, they’ve had the same mentality for this sport and faced mostly the same kind of criticism. all those comments the user plastered over sasha’s part of the video, were all things that were said to ilia and will continue being said.
