Around 3:30am, CSPFD responded to a report of smoke in the area of 5400 Godfrey Road. Upon arrival, crews located a fully engulfed 2 story home. No one was home at the time of the incident. Crews are still on scene putting out hotspots. The cause is still under investigation.

An apparent tornado touched down earlier this evening near Las Olas and the Intracoastal. There have been no reports of injuries so far. Fort Lauderdale Fire crews are assessing the damage, which appears to be minor. The public should be cautious of any debris and downed power lines in the area. @ftlauderdalepd @FLFR411 @playlauderdale

Great job to the crews of Station 43 for helping rescue an individual who was stuck in their attic for hours. Crews were able to free the weak patient and safely lower him back through the attic door. The patient was transported to the hospital for further evaluation.
