PSP UPDATE 1/5 - 7am: The FAA issue impacting Southern California airspace, including PSP, has been resolved. The airport is operating normally. Some residual delays may continue as airlines recover — please check with your airline for the latest flight status.

@davidptoner FAA equipment failure affecting SoCal airspace and several airports in the region. PSP disruptions are expected today and possibly tomorrow.

PSP TRAVEL ALERT: FAA air traffic control issue impacting SoCal airspace today. Departing flights are under a ground stop. Aircraft have been able to arrive, though some inbound flights have diverted and delays are expected. Check with your airline for the latest flight status.

PSP UPDATE 1/4 – 10am: Operations continue to normalize following yesterday’s FAA air traffic control issue. Arrivals and departures are operating, though delays are expected today and may continue through 1/6. Travelers should monitor flight status directly with their airline.

PSP UPDATE 1/3 - 4pm: The FAA ground stop impacting flights at Palm Springs International Airport has been lifted. Departures and arrivals will begin to slowly resume, though delays are expected to continue as operations normalize. Travelers should check flights with airline.

PSP Update 1/3 – 3pm: We remain under a ground stop due to an FAA air traffic control issue affecting Southern California airspace. Travelers are encouraged to monitor flight status directly with their airline.

Overnight Wed–Thurs, PSP will host a planned law enforcement training exercise. Nearby residents may hear activity: this is only training to support emergency preparedness. No cause for concern and no impact to airport operations.

The FAA has asked airlines to reduce flights at 40 major airports starting Nov 7 unless the government shutdown ends. PSP isn’t on that list, but nationwide adjustments could have ripple effects. Check with your airline and we’ll keep you posted. ✈️

PSP remains fully operational with no impacts to flights or services from the federal government shutdown at this time. TSA officers and air traffic controllers remain on duty. If anything changes, like staffing shortages or delays, we’ll share updates right away.
