@AmandaMGoetz Beauty in the slow & familiar —
Yes 🎯🙌!
Even more important when your flt is delayed
English

Every year I come to the home I was brought to as a baby. My dad built this house with family.
I planted that tree 30 years ago.
My entire body relaxes when I come here.
So much of my life is fast pace.
But coming here is a reminder there is beauty in the slow and familiar.
Growth is not a synonym for fast.
Growth happens when you slow down as well.

@ellebeecher A truly unique & valuable skill, ie greatest gift, that could have such a valuable impact on so many humans. Threading the needle to they are willing & receptive will be the next greatest gift to develop. Very interesting & exciting opp to change lives.

This is going to sound odd, but here goes nothing.
One of my greatest gifts is being able to spot *exactly* what someone does or says to turn off other people.
And sometimes, on my walks, I feel moved to share this feedback — and it’s caused 180° shifts in how people show up.
I’m not being dramatic. I’m talking… night and day shifts, from extremely awkward to Mayor of Austin, and I’m able to see this evolution in 4K Ultra HD because I’ve hosted 90 weekly walks where I watch people float in and out of conversations for 5 miles (2 hours each, 180+ hours total).
I’d consider myself a conversation expert. I know how to start them, keep them going in a way that feels good for everyone (for as little or long as I want), and end them. With anyone, anywhere, any time. I’m so connected to my intuition that I feel energy shifts in other people instantly. When I notice that I have a hard time connecting with someone, I pay attention to how other people receive them for the rest of the event, and identify patterns in what they’re doing or saying to repel others.
But… I also recognize that it is bizarre to go up to someone and be like “My brother in Christ, this oddly specific thing you’re doing is scaring the hoes.”
I do share specific feedback when I feel deep in my heart that the person is open and ready to hear it. (Or if they break the crystal clear rules of my walk that I outline in a 5+ minute speech.)
But when it comes to the lightweight feedback that sits in the gray area of “this is off-putting but not rule breaking”… I hesitate to share when I don’t feel emotional consent or willingness to hear my insights. So… long story short… I feel like I’m sitting on a gold mine of pattern-verified feedback (and solutions) for many people that could drastically deepen the level of genuine connection in their lives.
Here’s the exciting part: I think I can solve this “emotional consent” problem by offering social feedback as a service.
I would feel a lot less weird and a lot more empowered if I said, “Hey, if you feel like you struggle to connect with people and want gentle feedback on how you come across, I can watch you very closely and spot specific disconnection points and we can work on those together! YEEHAW!”
Every single time I’ve shared social feedback with someone… they had *no idea* how they were coming across, made a few tweaks that we brainstormed together, and immediately saw a shift in how people received them.
That’s why this idea of “social feedback” — telling people the thing that no one’s ever told them — has lit me up for a long time.
(Ask Danny or Talia… early last year, I started having vivid visions where I followed @elonmusk around everywhere, recorded his disconnection points and conversation breakdowns, and brainstormed a few tweaks that deepened the connection he feels to everyone around him.)
If you’ve been rocking with me for a while, you know I’ve had this heavy resistance to making money and stepping into coaching, but this breakthrough has me very excited.
I need to finalize this (and put it on a website instead of a tweet), but I’d love to guide good people on how to be in love with yourself, your social life, your romantic life, and your work. It’ll be so different for each person. And that’s the best part.
I love you all. This next chapter is going to be so freaking fun. 🥰🤍
