Yeah aligned with the fact that reasoning time is a majority of why CU is so slow right now, the concept of training a smaller model to become really good at domain tasks means it can achieve accuracy/reliability parity with a larger thinking model. I'd also assume distillation would lead to downstream speed improvements. Something we're thinking about is multiple actions bundled together for speed, ie) if we do have a reasoning model whats to say it can't figure out the next 3 actions at once rather than one at a time. An interesting (completely different take) CUA is @si_pbc, which uses video and streaming rather than ss. Excited to see more research from them.

Excellent researchers & AI engineers all know that computer use still sucks, It's SUPER slow, not very accurate on many sites, and isn't trained to be good at the ultra-specific workflows you want it to do. We built BrowserEnv to change that.

@kylejeong Nice, I’m wondering how fine-tuning something like qwen has changed your mind on explicitly CU tasks Does FT actually make it faster? Faster CU seems possible with maybe: 1) smaller model generating output faster or 2) fewer reasoning tokens and fewer tool uses

@foadgr govt forms are the perfect use case for browser agents honestly. structured inputs, predictable layouts, and the time savings compound fast when you're doing hundreds of submissions. 3x over Atlas is impressive, would love to see that side-by-side

Today is my last day at Vercel. I've had an absolute blast over the last year. Excited to share that I've joined Vercel's Board of Directors. Vercel is made up of builders and tastemakers that continually ship things that deeply impact how developers work: Next.js, AI SDK, v0, etc. I can't think of a more exciting place to be. Let's fucking ship. ▲ My relationship with Vercel goes back to the earliest days. HashiCorp was an early adopter of NextJS and Vercel (~10 years ago!) and it remains my default tech stack and deployment platform to this day. Ghostty's website is all on Vercel, too! Beyond that, I've been continually impressed with the teams relentless focus on shipping meaningful software. And importantly, software that has incredible taste. Now we are in the age of agentic software development. Vercel is building agentic infrastructure that I think every app and agent will need (I certainly need it!) and I can't think of a more exciting place to be. Huge thanks to @rauchg , Jeanne, Marten, @cramforce, @tomocchino and the entire Vercel team for the warm welcome. Time to work.

ok ive seen enough evidence to call it: dedicated agentic browsers were a mistake. you can do everything u need to do as a chrome extension. Claude Cowork et al have shown the way. excited for our @felixrieseberg pod to tell the full story of how @AnthropicAI won by just betting on where users are
