I remembered when Bola Ahmed Tinubu in his campaign talked about widening the Tax net, Obidients which included me at the time run around with it and jokingly mocked him by calling him a tax collector.
On a closer observation over time I realised that given the conditions of the economy, it made no sense not to have an effective tax system. Governance needs money to run and in our case trillions of dollars has been sunk into subsidy on fuel and dollars.
What Nigerians should appreciate this administration for especially on the tax law is that the government realised it needs money through tax but at the same time shouldn't place the burden on the people. The poor and the vulnerable wouldn't pay and payments only increases as income/profits increases. The elites who saw this as a direct attack on their wealth used gullible Nigerians to fight the tax law. This is one of the reasons I don't rate Obidients. They're not the smartest.

Demanding accountability is different from saying all the policies are bad because you do not like the president.
All these constant attacks on all the policies of the government without justifiable reasons to do so is annoying. A sane person with say "oh the tax law is good, however we need accountability in the use of country's resources."
That's better than just shouting "No no no" to everything.

@funto_peter @Don4Boat Some allowances earned by politicians should be also reduced because we are too poor a country to afford them. Govt is not one sided and it is important we demand accountability from our leaders. So, unlike your POV, Obidients are not dumb.

The summary of that Peter Obi interview is, “just make me president abeg, stop stressing me.”
He had no clarity on any of the issues. He went as far as saying anyone who doesn’t like him doesn’t mean well for Nigeria. That’s the sort of delusion his followers thrive on.
I met some diplomats last year. Their issue with the opposition candidates, they said, is that whenever you ask what they’ll do differently, the answer is always, “that’s not the issue. Let me get there first.”
Peter Obi exemplifies that disconnect.
To become president, you must start by being in touch with reality. He is out of touch.
And no matter how many times he calls his interviewers by name or holds their hands in that psychological plea for mercy, as long as he keeps opening his mouth, he will keep showing why no sane Nigerian will ever consider him for president.
The presidency is not an experiment. And that’s a beautiful thing, because he would have made for a disastrous one.

When I hear comments like these, I always wonder if we're still talking about the same Peter Obi who was a two terms governor or another Peter Obi who has never held political positions before?
It's 2026, this blind followership must stop. Everything Obi told us to go and verify, we have verified and found out 80% of them were all lies. I don't think Nigeria has ever had a more divisive political figure than him.

Let's be frank, many people supported Obi not because he was the symbol of competence but because at the time, he looked sick and more like the Northern oligarchs were packaging him to clear the path for Shettima presidency should "Tinubu" died.
Tinubu won and it turned out he played the North. No sane person will ever see a sane Tinubu and pick Obi is his best version over him. The facts are there to see.
