@gilbert_pan Low dose heparin usually like 300-500units/hr IMO. Term comes from@the fact that we’re too chicken to fully heparinize. So we do just a little. Also, I’m glad you asked!!!

Was recently discussing anticoagulation strategies and one team member kept referring to “chicken heparin”, which was an unfamiliar term for some folks from different hospitals (1/2).

Made me 1. Feel less bad for that period of time intern year when I thought chicken heparin was different and derived from 🐥🐓 2. Reinforced the importance of clarifying the terminology we use. All stages of people are learners. 📚🙇‍♀️

@gilbert_pan Organize your time. Dress up for class. Stick to the material in the allotted time. Do it on a desk not on your couch. Try your best to recreate the learning environment as if you are in a lecture hall. It will be an adjustment but you can do it.
