My name is Chris and I’m an alcoholic. Today marks 13 days since I’ve drank. I didn’t expect this much support so here’s a little back story about me. 13 years ago I drank 24/7. Me and my friend got in some big trouble, I spent 90 days in jail and checked myself into a rehab before my sentencing. The judge was amazed on this and reduced my sentencing to graduate that rehab. I wasn’t ready but I didn’t want to go to prison. I snuck vodka inside the facility eventually and got away with it. I met my wife I’m with now at this time. I graduated still even though I wasn’t sober. She put up with me for years and years while I was on probation. It wasn’t until I got off probation I was able to quit drinking, about 2018. I quit for years, cold turkey. It wasn’t until 2024 when I got laid off from a job paying $45 an hour. That’s when I fell back down and haven’t been able to fully recover. That brings us to today where I can claim 13 days, doesn’t seem like a lot but for me it’s everything. Thank you all for being there for me♥️

I watched as they turned gaming—from something built on passion—into a machine. A machine fueled by drained wallets, locked content, and players chasing experiences they already paid for. Saw it happen. Saw ‘em normalize it. Now look at it. PlayStation 5 prices going up years after launch. Games costing more. Subscriptions stacked on subscriptions. And they still want more. They’ve already taken ownership of what we play, how we play it… now they’re coming for why we play. This ain’t about nostalgia. Ain’t about ‘the good old days’ of gaming. This is about control. About a system that keeps tightening its grip until playing becomes a privilege instead of a right. You think it stops at a price hike? It doesn’t. It never does. This is a player’s war. Against a system that feeds on loyalty and gives back less every time. Against the slow death of creativity, buried under monetization models and quarterly targets. And yeah… if that means pushing back—boycotting, calling it out, refusing to play along—then that’s what it takes. Because if we don’t? One day you’ll boot up your console… and realize the game was never meant for you anymore. You don’t see it yet. But you will.

Here to remind you how cheap the last generation PlayStation console used to get. PS4 launched at $399 MSRP, then the PS4 slim launched at $299 and went down as low as $199 (with a copy of Insomniac Spider-Man) during Black Friday Week. By comparison, PS5 digital launched for $399 and it now costs $599, a whopping $200 increase since its launch. Thanks to AI data centers sucking up all the memory and causing a worldwide memory shortage, gamers can’t even afford consoles anymore and its affecting everyone. The same hardware from 2020 now costs $200 more to buy and I cant even begin to imagine how much more expensive the PS6 will be if this keeps going.
