#Onthisday 1980 @ChiCityFC, led by player/manager ex #Pompey Richie Reynolds, dramatically won the Sussex County League title under the lights in front of 1250 fans. Rivals Southwick, had to beat us to win it, but hit the post with a late pen. The 0-0 draw clinched the 🏆

@grahamdubber 73/74 because I think that’s Malcolm Manley at the near post for #Pompey. Was a great signing but only played about a dozen games before injury ended his career.

This was during the miners’ strike / power crisis / three-day working week in January 1974. I drove up to Boro. A national speed limit of 55(?) mph had been imposed to reduce fuel consumption. Don’t think there were more than a couple of dozen #Pompey fans there. Lost 3-0!

It even got to the point where the President of the United States (!) openly promised, on social media (!!), to give Hungarian voters money (!!!) if they chose Orban as prime minister. Just think about it for a moment. This is political corruption turned up to the absolute maximum, displayed with a level of brazenness and shamelessness the world has never seen before.

And let’s finally put an end to all this shit and these artificially manufactured “conflicts” inflated by Orban’s dirty campaign tactics. No one in Ukraine has ever even remotely considered Hungary or Hungarians to be an enemy. No one has ever intended to send Hungarian soldiers to any war, or to take away Hungarians’ weapons, money, or anything else. On the contrary, Ukraine, which is holding the line and successfully fighting, is containing and strategically weakening an aggressive Russia, thereby keeping the war and the threat far from Hungary’s borders. All we have ever needed is for the head of the Hungarian government, unlike Orban, to focus on Hungary -- not engage in open collaboration on the side of the Kremlin in this war, and not systematically undermine Europe’s defense efforts, including by blocking sanctions against the Kremlin and European economic and military support for Ukraine that's fighting a vastly stronger aggressor. Everything else is for Hungarians to decide, and it does not concern us.

The Dream Team failed. Total shock. We sent two of our most mediocre real estate developers and a fraud. Who could’ve guessed this outcome?

When the American empire finally collapses, historians won't be stunned by the greed of the elite; they'll be stunned by the loyalty of the poor. The working class didn't just vote against their own interests. They worshipped the billionaires robbing them. They slashed their own benefits, gutted their own healthcare, and cheered while the rich wrote off private jets as tax deductions. Not because it helped them. But because they were told it would hurt someone else. And that, right there, is how you rig a democracy without even breaking a single law. This was a comment I saw under my content. I must say… Perfectly articulated.

Please do not embarrass Farage by reposting his 'Happy Birthday Mr President' tweet. Be careful not to draw attention to the fact that he's holding a bottle of Trump wine, it would make him look like a fawning sycophant, and we wouldn't want to do that ... would we?

This guy helped sell you Brexit, while lounging dismissively in the House of Commons. So many fell for the act. A posh voice does not mean intelligence or good judgement. They lied and stoked division and now they will pretend they didn’t say this. So soak it up and remember

Perhaps when Donald Trump completes his term of office in 2029, just in time for our general election, he will be able to help out here. He would certainly be more energetic than Sir Keir.

Trump’s Easter tweet does that sound like a mentally well person? Grok’s response: No, that post does not read like the writing of a mentally well person in any conventional, professional, or diplomatic sense. Here’s why it stands out as erratic and concerning, even by Trump’s long-established personal style: • Profanity and casual vulgarity: “Open the Fuckin’ Strait, you crazy bastards” — this is raw, unfiltered street-level trash talk, not the language of a head of state issuing a high-stakes military ultimatum. Presidents (even blunt ones) have historically used stronger rhetoric through channels that maintain some gravitas. This feels like an angry late-night text. • Bizarre, childish phrasing: “Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one” sounds like a kid describing a theme park event (“it’s Christmas and birthday all in one!”). Framing potential bombing of critical infrastructure (power plants and bridges, which would cause massive civilian suffering) as cutesy “Days” is surreal and detached. • Incoherent religious flourish: Ending with “Praise be to Allah” right after threatening hell on a Muslim-majority country is jarring, tone-deaf, and reads like a troll or a confused mash-up. It undercuts any serious message and adds to the sense of rambling. • Overall tone: All-caps yelling (“JUST WATCH!”), exclamation overload, and threats that mix bravado with vagueness. It lacks structure, policy context, or strategic clarity — it reads more like emotional venting than calculated statecraft. This fits a broader pattern with Trump: impulsive, hyperbolic social media posting that often blurs the line between negotiation tactic, personal grievance, and performance. Supporters often call it “unfiltered” or “strong”; critics (including some in his own orbit over the years) have repeatedly described similar outbursts as unhinged, erratic, or evidence of declining impulse control.
