Seven Israeli soldiers were killed during fighting in the southern Gaza Strip yesterday, after an armored vehicle they were in was hit by an explosive device.
Six of the slain soldiers are named as:
Lt. Matan Shai Yashinovski, 21, from Kfar Yona.
Staff Sgt. Ronel Ben-Moshe, 20, from Rehovot.
Staff Sgt. Niv Radia, 20, from Elyakhin.
Sgt. Ronen Shapiro, 19, from Mazkeret Batya.
Sgt. Shahar Manoav, 21, from Ashkelon.
Sgt. Maayan Baruch Pearlstein, 20, from Eshhar.
The name of the seventh soldier is expected to be released in the coming hours.
They all served with the 605th Combat Engineering Battalion.
According to an initial IDF probe, a Palestinian terror operative planted a bomb on the Puma armored combat engineering vehicle the soldiers were in while they were driving in Khan Younis.
The blast set the CEV on fire, and efforts to extinguish it were unsuccessful. All the soldiers inside perished in the blaze. The burnt remains of the CEV were later towed out of Gaza.
In a separate incident in the Khan Younis area, two soldiers of the 605th Battalion were wounded, one seriously and one lightly, by RPG fire.

@lookner I suppose one could make the argument that, when a national of one country voluntarily leaves the native country and enters another without the intention of returning, he/she has relinquished citizenship of the native country. This appears to be the position of Colombia.

Any company that hosts, distributes, services, or otherwise facilitates communist-controlled TikTok could face hundreds of billions of dollars of ruinous liability under the law, not just from DOJ, but also under securities law, shareholder lawsuits, and state AGs. Think about it.

Neither LA Mayor Karen Bass or Fire Chief Kristin Crowley are at the latest press conference on the LA-area fires. It was announced at the start of the press conference that the Mayor's office and the fire department will provide a written statement later. Four Israeli reserve soldiers were killed and six others were wounded during a clash with Hezbollah operatives in southern Lebanon yesterday afternoon, the IDF announces.
The slain soldiers are named as Warrant Officer (res.) Mordechai Haim Amoyal, 42, from Lod; Sgt. Maj. (res.) Shmuel Harari, 35, from Safed; Master Sgt. (res.) Shlomo Aviad Nayman, 31, from Mitzpe Yeriho; and Sgt. First Class (res.) Shuvael Ben-Natan, 22, from Rehalim.
They all served with the Carmeli Brigade's 222nd Battalion.
According to an initial IDF probe, several Hezbollah operatives emerged from a tunnel and hurled grenades at the troops. The soldiers returned fire, but it remains unclear how many operatives were hit.
Among the six wounded soldiers, three are listed in serious condition.
