Last night one of our newest live traders left the desk with a working sell order still in. The order filled short at 6,816 just before ES rallied. Our risk manager spotted it and immediately called the trader. No answer. Started working them out of the position. Without that intervention the trader would’ve been short from 6,816 up to 6,865 at close. That would have been a 49 point loss (~$2,400 PER contract). Instead it was a scratch. Trader kept their seat and account. A loss would’ve likely ended this trader’s run at Raen. Now they’re still trading. This is table stakes for any legitimate trading operation. Most traders overlook risk infrastructure entirely when evaluating firms.
