Don't be fooled by vanity metrics and pressure yourself to follow certain algorithms or formulas for success. Start by focusing on the clients and customers you have NOW. Give them a stellar client experience and it'll pay off in dividends.

By focusing on client experience, I don't have to be pressured into overwhelming marketing efforts, unrealistic costs, or tied to social media for business growth. In fact, we've had our most successful years OFF of social media.

Client experience has been my number one marketing strategy for YEARS. Making sure your CURRENT clients (and customers) adore working with you is single-handedly the most important thing I focus on at my design studio (and why I built a tool to support all of my CRM needs).

I wonder how many of you have actually read a case study on someone's portfolio. Because case studies take forever to create, and while they are valuable in an interview context, I don't know if they are truly useful in an online portfolio. Wdyt?
