So my Overwatch spotlight concluded with 3 clips going popular, and every single one of them is the damn jetpack cat carrying & dropping a nuclear bomb on me, getting strafed by mauga-130 and getting tomahawk missiled by bastion. dude.

I was able to maintain a good ramp up, solid fluency, avoid repeating phrases, and somehow my old brain kept up with what was going on I don’t pat myself on the back at all really (let alone post much anymore) but if this is what 10 years in the job can do, I look fwd to 20.

I am really happy with this run of casting from last weekend’s OWCS playoffs. You really need to wait and hope for great gameplay moments in order to be able to do this, and it’s nice to know I can still give my best to the esport that gave me so much

@jamirblanco You can tell a lot of work went into Anduin, and he is truly a deserving character 🥰🥰 Ty for helping bring him to life!

Anduin is one of the most realistic characters we’ve ever created. All elements were high res even at base topology. The cloak I made for example, is over 100k polys and isn’t displaced at render time. Instead we relied on true geometry to have it fully visualized at all times. This helped achieve a highly realistic simulation with no interpretation, animators and lighters knew exactly what they were looking at while working, and it allowed us to capture much more complex folds, tattered edges, and close up detail. Through this workflow we were ultimately able to get extremely close to any part of Anduin, his range of emotion shines through, and is one of the most dense yet realistic characters we’ve ever built for a cinematic.
