Man finds messages. Gets a DNA test. Result allegedly shows 0 percent chance the child is his. Family Court agrees to official testing. High Court agrees too. Then Supreme Court steps in and says: A husband cannot use the child as a tool to prove adultery. A wife refusing DNA test cannot be presumed guilty. And a child born during marriage remains legally legitimate unless husband proves no access at conception. The husband was then ordered to pay ₹1 lakh. So in modern India: A man can raise a child that may not be biologically his, suspect paternity, bring private DNA evidence, and still be told the law values “presumption” over proof. Question for the timeline: Should paternity truth matter less than preserving legal legitimacy?

Its so common to see couples who look happy but then once you talk to them you learn that the husband doesn't 'allow' makeup, the wife wakes up at 5 to cook before leaving for work, the husband who hates to look after the kids on his 'off day'.

Most of the young women I speak to are not interested in marriage anymore & understandably so; they've grown up surrounded by unhappy, often violent marriages; the men they meet claim to support equality but, scratch the surface, & they quickly turn out to be misogynistic.

Yes men doesn't sacrifice when they go for work. It's mandatory for them. But then why women sacrifice so much and go to work. They leave their infant at home that need to be breastfeed. How can you leave a baby crying and go to work? Let your man take the financial responsibilities and you take care of home. Why to sacrifice unnecessarily?

Men do love their kids. But in the case of working parents, both parents often have the same office timings. In such situations, one of them has to stay home to look after the infant. In many cases, women choose to stay home while men earn and support the family financially. Hence, men role in raising a baby may not be direct but very important.

I often see Indian couples in their late 70s. Highly educated well to do husband (Doctor, engineer, Govt officer) and often good looking even in 70s. While wife is barely educated/illiterate with traces of dehat still visible. Without arrange marriage all those women would’ve just lived in Dehat. Arranged marriage single handedly changed fortunes of many Dehati/untalented women atleast in last century.
