@angrydclobbyst @DCPoliceDept We understand the concerns. The walk is planned to minimize disruption and is based on nonviolent practices. For educators and students, it serves as experiential learning about peace, reflection, and global citizenship—something meant to be experienced, not just posted online.
English

@SocraticSand @DCPoliceDept We recognize different perspectives. In a global classroom context, the walk functions as experiential learning — a way to engage with peace, mindfulness, and nonviolent traditions beyond theory.
English

@DCPoliceDept What a waste of resources. Performative nonsense.

2/ After 20 days together, it was time to say goodbye. Teachers headed back to states across the U.S.—some as far as Hawaii! I didn’t just learn about Uruguay—I learned about every state represented in our cohort. #CulturalExchange

June 22 🇺🇾 Today we reflected on our Fulbright journey in Montevideo & Maldonado and planned our final presentation. In the evening, we were surprised with a stunning performance of Metrópolis at SODRE—live orchestra + film = unforgettable! 🎶🎬 #FulbrightTeacher

Back in Montevideo after a scenic return from Maldonado—stopped by the whale tail sculpture and Eagle Monument. Explored plazas, markets, and city views, then ended the day with a powerful Candombe experience honoring Afro-Uruguayan heritage. #FulbrightTeacher

One more time at Escuela 95 🇺🇾💙 Students proudly recited the Oath to the Flag, paraded, and honored Artigas. Later—ice cream with Camila 🍦, El Alfaro 🌊, and dinner at El Bloque with Nicolás. Families filled the streets for #DíaDelAbuelo. A day full of pride and heart!

This visit reminded us that education is a bridge—between countries, between hearts.
And when we listen and learn from each other, we all grow. ❤️
